STAR Education Relief Outreach engages with 2000+ Children in over 37 Relief Camps in Manipur
ZEO Imphal West in collaboration with STAR Education conducted a Painting Competition for the Children at Lamboi Khongnangkhong Trade Expo Center relief camp on Friday, July 28, 2023. The competition was conducted as a part of STAR Education Relief Outreach and aimed to give a sense of normalcy to the children affected by the present situation in Manipur.
Around 150+ children took part in the competition carried out in four (4) different categories:
- Pre Primary to Class 2 (Theme: Your favourite fruit/flower/vegetable)
- Class 3 – Class 5 (Theme: Keeping my school clean)
- Class 6 – Class 8 (Theme: Conservation of energy)
- Class 9 – Class 10 (Theme: Pollution free environment)

Sucheta Khumukcham, ZEO Imphal West, said, “The Talent Hunt Program is organised to provide a platform for the young students, affected by the present unrest situation in Manipur, to showcase their talent in painting and a creative medium for emotional and psychological healing to the displaced children currently taking refuge at the Lamboi Khongnangkhong Trade Expo Centre Relief Camp.”

Padma Guru Rewben Mashangva performed at the event as a way of cheering up everyone present, especially people taking refuge at the Lamboi Khongnangkhong Trade and Expo Centre Relief Camp. His song carried the message to love one another and violence is not something that we should be encouraged to do.

Group A
1st Place: Th Lanchenba (class 2) 2nd Place: N. Nikita (class 2) 3rd Place: M Soya (class 2) |

1st Place: N. Thounganba (class 7) 2nd Place: Raj (class 7) 3rd Place: Ningthoujam Babysana (class 8) |
Group B

The event gave a sense of hope and encouraged the students to not sway away from education even with the present unrest situation in the State. ZEO Imphal West ended with the note to collaborate more with STAR Education in the future.
